The evening meals offered were superb and a true pleasure, while the spacious twin room with a stunning sea view showcased the fascinating Jurassic coast. noise from the kitchen and other guests disrupted the restful atmosphere at times, and the lift malfunctioning was frustrating. Cleanliness was commendable, but it's clear the hotel leans towards a dated decor.

This place suits me perfectly with free parking, a bar/lounge area, and a spa. On my first stay, the staff kindly returned my shower bag that I forgot. I highly recommend this hotel. I’m coming back for a weekend!

The location of the Royal York Hotel was perfect, right on the seafront with stunning views. My room had an amazing sea view and came with a lovely balcony. The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the fresh decor. Breakfast was freshly cooked, really tasty, and the staff in the dining room were standout—especially Nata, who was always friendly and attentive. The lounge areas were beautifully designed and provided a nice spot to relax. On the downside, the bathroom could use some updates. It felt a bit cramped, and the shower tray had some issues. The lack of self-service options during breakfast was disappointing. I enjoyed my stay, but some areas like the bathrooms could use improvements.

Lovely view, quirky room
We had a fun stay with our 2 pups! Room 34 had a great view, but the bathroom was super tiny—like, shower curtain tiny. Breakfast was just okay, could’ve used more variety. The staff were super nice and attentive though! Only thing was the sloping floor and bouncy bed that kept waking me up when my husband turned over.

A perfect seaside getaway!
We had an awesome 3-night stay! The staff were super friendly, even left us chocolates for our friend's retirement. Loved the cozy family room and the view of the waves. Dinner was delish, especially the local ingredients. Only wish the dining was a bit quicker during busy hours, but totally worth it for the experience!

The breakfast was freshly cooked to order and absolutely delish, giving me all the morning vibes! Plus, Nata in the restaurant was an absolute gem, always ready with a smile and stellar service.
Parking was a bit of a faff. had to keep feeding that meter before brekkie.

The restaurant's four-course dinner was exceptional, and the afternoon tea was a lovely treat.
A few maintenance issues with the decor.

missingWrote a review on 04 Julcrowded atmospheremeal quality
Unfortunately, our visit coincided with two large coach parties, which overwhelmed the hotel and created a crowded atmosphere, feeling more like a care home than a three-star establishment. The food quality, though decent, came off as mass-produced, likely due to the high volume of guests, and the health of the elevators left something to be desired, with malfunctions interrupting the ease of access. the limited mobility accommodations fell short, as step-free access could have been better planned to help guests move around with ease.

The stay was really enjoyable, especially with the sea view from the room that added a relaxing touch. I particularly loved the freshly cooked breakfast each morning that set up the day perfectly. While there were minor noise issues from the kitchen below, the overall atmosphere was welcoming. It's a great base to explore the beautiful surrounding areas like the local parks and beach.
